Toros Women's Basketball Signs Brittney Blankenship to a National Letter of Intent
Palmdale native becomes third freshman to sign with CSUDH

Carson, CA -- Cal State Dominguez Hills head women’s basketball coach Van Girard announced the signing of incoming freshman Brittney Blankenship to a National Letter of Intent to begin playing for the Toros in the upcoming 2004-05 season.

A 5’ 9” small forward, Blankenship (Palmdale, CA/Palmdale HS) earned league MVP honors in leading Palmdale to the league championship and 29-6 record. She averaged 16 points, nine boards, six assists and one steal per game while sinking 75% of her foul shots.

A tenacious defender, Blankenship was an All-CIF selection, won the Coach’s Award as a freshman, the scholar-athlete award as a junior and has maintained an impressive 3.5 GPA as a prep.

“Brittney is a great defender with good size,” says Girard. “Along with our returning core nucleus and the other freshmen we signed, I’m looking forward to an exciting year.”
