Carson, CA - Sophomore Rachele McDonald
(Ventura, CA/Buena HS) tallied the only goal of the contest at the
70:45 mark as Cal State Dominguez Hills won its third-consecutive
one-goal decision, besting visiting Cal State Bakersfield on a
windy day on Toro Field.
With the victory, CSUDH improves to 8-4-0,
4-2-0 CCAA, while CSUB falls to 1-8-3, 0-4-2 CCAA.
McDonalds goal, coming on a scramble in
front of the box from 10 yards out, gave the Toros the answer they
had been searching for, as the games aggressors.
CSUDH outshot CSUB 19-10, including an 11-4
advantage in the second half.
CSUDH goalkeeper Mallory Dominguez (San Pedro,
CA/Mary Star of the Sea HS) stopped three shots to collect her
second shutout of the season.
The Toros travel to Chico State on Friday,
October 8, before heading to Cal State Stanislaus two days later.
