TURLOCK, Calif. -- Cal State Dominguez Hills
scored a goal 24 seconds into overtime to defeat host Cal State
Stanislaus, 2-1, in California Collegiate Athletic Association
men's soccer action at Warrior Soccer Field Sunday afternoon.
Francisco Corona found the back of the net at
the 90:36 mark on a pass from Jesse Graham to seal the win for the
Toros.
The Warriros are now 4-9-1 overall and 1-5-1 in
the CCAA and the Toros are now 10-2-2 overall and 6-0-2 in the
CCAA.
Nathan Reeves opened the scoring in the 25th
minute to give CSUDH a 1-0 lead. Kyle Nicholson set-up Glenn
Tafolla in the 65th minute to knot the game up, 1-1, where it
stayed through regulation.
The Toros outshot the Warriors, 17-7, getting
five shots on goal to the Warriors two. Mando Herrera made five
saves for Stanislaus and Kyle Polak made one for the Toros.
Cal State Dominguez Hills plays the role of
host for its next two matches, Friday with San Francisco State
(1:30 p.m.) and Sunday with Sonoma State (3:00 p.m.). |
