TURLOCK, Calif.-- Visiting Cal State Dominguez
Hills defeated host Cal Sate Stanislaus, 1-0, on a goal scored in
the final minute of regulation in a California Collegiate Athletic
Association women's soccer match Sunday afternoon at Warrior
Soccer Field.
Both teams played evenly throughout the contest
with the Toros breaking the scoreless tie with just 42 seconds on
the clock when Candace Hearn put Sandra Llyoyd's pass past the keeper.
The loss drops the Warriors' record to 8-3-3
overall and 3-3-2 in the CCAA. The Toros improve to 9-4-1 and
5-2-1 in the CCAA.
Each keeper had solid games for their
respective teams with Mallory Dominguez notching four for the
Toros and earning the shutout win and Breanna Vaughn grabbing
five, but had the lone blemish in the loss.
Cal State Dominguez Hills plays the role of
host for its next two matches, Friday with San Francisco State (4
p.m.) and Sunday with Sonoma State (12:30 p.m.).
