Carson, CA -- The small parking lot just west
of the Torodome became the temporary site for the American Red
Cross Blood Mobile last week, as Cal State Dominguez Hills
Student Health Center and the Athletics combined to host 2004
CSUDH Athletics Department Blood Drive.
In all, 38 donors were scheduled during the
six-hour block, 30 of whom actually gave blood. Led by Athletics
Director Ron Prettyman, who also donated, representatives from all
CSUDHs 11 sports were present and potentially 72 lives were
saved.
Athletics appreciated the opportunity the
Student Health Center provided us to co-sponsor this event,
said Assistant Athletics Director Lamel Harris. I was
extremely happy with not only the effort the student-athletes made
in promoting the event, but also to those who were able to donate
blood. This drive was a success and we look forward to an even
more successful blood drive in the spring. |
