Rachele McDonald has been
selected to the first-team All-West Region. She led the Toros

CARSON, Calif.--Forward Rachele McDonald
(Ventura, CA/Buena HS) has been selected to the first-team
All-West Region, it was announced by the National Soccer Coaches
Association of America (NSCAA).
McDonald, a sophomore from Ventura, CA, and the
only Toro to earn All-West Region honors, led CSUDH to the
California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Championship
with a 1-0 double-overtime thriller over Chico State. The Toros
advanced to the first round of the NCAA playoffs, where it
suffered a 1-0 loss to Seattle University, the eventual Far West
Region champion.
The Toros finished at 14-6-3 overall and 8-3-3
in the CCAA.
McDonald concluded the regular season as the
CCAA leader in goals scored (11), goals per game average (0.58),
points (25) and points per game (1.32). Additionally, she tied for
the league lead in game-winning goals with four.
This is the third honor McDonald has received
this year, following her CCAA Player of the Year honor and
first-team All-CCAA selection just prior to the start of the
conference tournament. |
