SEASIDE, Calif.--(January 28, 2005)--Senior
guard Quenton Harvey (Compton, CA/Cleveland HS) led Cal State
Dominguez Hills back from a four-point halftime deficit with a
game-high 21 points as the Toros defeated Cal State Monterey Bay
83-74 in California Collegiate Athletic Association action Friday
night at the Kelp Bed.

Down 34-30 at the break, CSUDH (5-12, 4-6 CCAA)
outscored the Otters by 13 points scoring a season-high 53 points
in the second half to go on for the CCAA victory.
Several players had to step up this evening for
the Toros as the squad was without leading rebounder, senior
forward Eric Crookshank (Vallejo, CA/Chabot JC) who was out with
flu like symptoms. Despite not having Crookshank available, the
Toros out-rebounded the Otters 36-29 in the game.
Harvey led all with 21 points including 9-of-11
at the free throw line. Quishawn Harrell (Long Beach, CA/LB Wilson
HS) followed with a season-high 18 points, and also was sharp from
the charity stripe going 8-for-9. As a team the Toros shot a
season-high 80% from the charity stripe. Les Norman (Lebanon,
IL/Coppin State) and Phillip Givens (Los Angeles, CA/Manuel Arts
HS) rounded out the Toro quartet in double figures with 15 and 12
points respectively.
Cal State Dominguez Hills is back in league
action next weekend as they continue this three-game road swing to
Northern California. The Toros will travel to Sonoma State on
Friday, February 4 to take on the Seawolves. Tip-off is scheduled
for 7:30 p.m. in Rohnert Park.
