CARSON, Calif.--(February 9, 2005)--The Cal
State Dominguez Hills women's basketball team moved up to No. 6 in
the NCAA Division II West Region ranking released today.
Seattle Pacific (19-1), the defending regional
champion, stayed at No. 1. Western Washington (18-2) remained at
No. 2 while California Collegiate Athletic Association schools
Chico State (16-3) and Cal Poly Pomona (15-4) followed at No. 3
and No. 4 respectively.
Rounding out the top-10 are No. 5 Cal State
Bakersfield (14-5), Cal State Dominguez Hills (12-6), Saint
Martin's (14-5), Montana State-Billings (15-5), Cal State San
Bernardino (14-5) and UC San Diego (12-7).
CSUDH begins a four-game homestand this weekend
hosting Cal State L.A. and Cal State Bakersfield on Friday and
Saturday beginning at 5:30 p.m.
The final regional poll determines which teams
are awarded the six at-large berths and join the California
Collegiate Athletic Association and Great Northwest Athletic
Conference regular-season champions in the West Regional of the
NCAA II National Tournament from March 11-14.
