CSUDH took a 46-31 halftime lead into the break thanks in part to 14 first half points by Blue. The Toros were hot from beyond the arc in the first twenty minutes hitting 50% of their attempts (7-14).

Cal State Dominguez Hills (17-9, 15-5 CCAA) came out in the second half and built a 20-point lead in the first five minutes, 61-41, with 15:18 remaining. The Toros led by as many as 28 points in a game that was never really in jeopardy.

After Blue's 27 points, the Toros were led by three other's in double figures offensively. Senior guard Octavia Askew poured in 16 points and senior forward Crystal Maciel came off the bench to knock in 14 on 5-of-9 shooting, including 4-of-7 from behind the 3-point line. Freshman Jessica Liang hit for 12 points with four three-point baskets. Senior center Naupaka Uperesa led the Toros on the glass with seven rebounds.

For CSUMB (2-24, 0-20 CCAA), Jennifer Lopez came off the bench to score a team-high 18 points. Denise Sanchez and Michelle Hale followed with 13 and 11 points respectively.

Five CSUDH seniors were playing in their final regular season home game at the Torodome. Askew, Maciel, Uperesa, Lindsay Peloza and Karen Shirley put on the Cardinal & Gold for the last time in the Torodome.

Cal State Dominguez Hills will now await the selection on Sunday of the eight teams to participate in the NCAA West Regional March 11-14 at a site yet to be determined. The Toros were ranked No. 5 in the last region poll released earlier this week by the NCAA.
