Wing, the all-time winningest coach in Cal State Dominguez Hills history, is only the 39th active coach at the NCAA Division II level to reach the 400 win milestone. Wing's first CSUDH victory came in his debut back on February 6, 1989 in a 12-4 win at the University of Arizona.

CSUDH (9-12) jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead after two innings after plating four runs in the first and three runs in the second. Eda led off for the Toros in the first and greeted Eagle starter Brandon Mahoney with his sixth homer of the season, and fourth in the last four games, to put the home team up 1-0. Ian Corso (Thousand Oaks/Thousand Oaks HS) added a run with an RBI double and Chris Hunter (Vallejo/Vallejo HS) plated a run on a fielder's choice.

The Toros got three unearned runs in the second thanks to two Concordia errors, a run-scoring wild pitch and an RBI single off the bat of center fielder Isidro Perez (South Gate/LA Harbor JC) for a 7-0 lead.

CU (7-11) put up a run in the third after an RBI single by designated hitter Landon Cortenbach. But Cal State Dominguez Hills answered with three more runs in the fourth for a 10-1 lead. In that inning, CSUDH got RBI singles from Corso, Martin Conde (Los Angeles/Fremont HS) and a two-out RBI double off the bat of third baseman Jose Montes (Pacoima/San Fernando HS) to put the game out of reach.

Concordia added two runs in the top of the seventh after Colt Moltoni hit a 2-run homerun to leftfield, but that would be all the scoring the rest of the day for the 11-3 final.

Toro starter Ryan Owen (2-2) went 5.0 innings allowing one run on five hits while striking out four to earn the win. James Dodson (Long Beach/Lakewood HS), Dustin Gober (Long Beach/Lakewood HS) and Pedro Gutierrez (Carson/Carson HS) combined for the final 4.0 innings of relief allowing only two runs while scattering three hits between them.

Corso and Montes led the Toros finishing 2-for-4 on the day. Perez also collected two hits in five trips to the plate.

Brandon Mahoney (0-1) suffered the loss for the Eagles going the first 1.1 innings. Mahoney allowed six runs, but only three earned, on four hits. Five other pitchers saw action on the mound for Concordia in the losing effort.

Charlie Douglas and Landon Cortenbach paced the Eagles offense with two hits apiece.

CSUDH is back in league action this weekend traveling to San Francisco State for a four-game series beginning on Friday at 2 PM.
