This is Miller’s second weekly nod of the year, winning CCAA Player of the Week honors for the week of April 4-10.

Miller, a junior from Bremerton, Wash., was brilliant as she threw two complete-game victories in helping lead the Toros to the “Mountain Dew Classic” Championship game, and an overall 5-2 record in the tournament which included the best teams in the Far West Region. She went 2-0 and did not allow an earned run over 14 innings pitched.

Against Western New Mexico on Saturday, Miller tossed a two-hit gem, fanning nine batters en route to winning her 15th game of the year. The 5’6” right-hander retired the first nine Mustangs she faced and 11 of the final 13 batters. She then limited UC San Diego to five hits and a walk the next day, fanning four batters to earn a complete-game 2-0 shutout victory.

Overall, Miller boasted a perfect 0.00 ERA in her two complete-game wins, striking out 13 and limiting the opposition to a .149 batting average against. Additionally, Miller helped herself at the plate with four hits, including two doubles, and two RBI.

The 12th-ranked and CCAA Champion Toros travel to Bakersfield this weekend, taking on the Roadrunners in the final CCAA weekend of the season. CSUDH then hosts non-conference foes Biola and Grand Canyon the first week in May, awaiting their seed and tournament site for the Far West Regionals, beginning on May 12.
