CSUDH a Perfect Locale for “A Perfect Proposal”
The Learning Channel’s hit reality show intertwines love and basketball in the Torodome
May 24, 2005

Carson, CA -- The Learning Channel made a visit to the Carson campus on January 22, filming an episode of its romantic reality television program, “A Perfect Proposal.”

Scheduled to air on Monday, June 6, at 11:00 a.m., this segment of “A Perfect Proposal” features a former Toro basketball player as its subject, and uses a halftime basketball tribute as its backdrop.

Nikki Boyer, host of “A Perfect Proposal,” visits the campus as a would-be women’s basketball recruit, and is entertained at various on-campus locales by the unsuspecting bride-to-be. With the help of women’s basketball head coach Van Girard, assistant coach Gary Plunkett and the CSUDH women’s basketball team, the TLC crew creates a faux tribute to coach Girard during halftime of the men’s basketball contest, lining up pieces to the soon-to-be revealed puzzle. Once the tribute begins, placards are revealed one-by-one by selected fans in attendance, eventually shedding light on what this night is really about.

Tune in to TLC on Monday, June 6, to catch “A Perfect Proposal” and see one man’s dream become reality right in front of your eyes. Check your local listings for the channel in your area.
