cross-country program, founded both the CSUDH cross country and
track and field programs in 1997 and served as head coach from
1997-2001. Having just completed her 8th year of coaching on the

Country champion, one NCAA West Region Athlete of the Year and a
runner-up team finish at the CCAA T&F Championships among her

After earning a track and field scholarship and
competing in the 800 meters at the University of California Los
Angeles, Schlobohm received her Bachelor of Arts in History from
UCLA.
In 2002, the NCAA Committee on Womens
Athletics (CWA) supported an initiative to train, support and
retain women coaches, eventually spawning the start of the Women
Coaches Academy, which provides skills training for all coaches at
all levels to assist them in being more efficient, productive,
resourceful and successful. To date there have been three
highly-successful sessions of the five-day academies, the most
recent from June 9-13, 2005, held at Atlantas Emory
University.
