Carson, CA -- Cal State Dominguez Hills
Athletics Department staff members Julie Sandoval, Patrick Guillen
and Tim McGuire all were honored as part of the CSUDH Staff
Service Awards, a ceremony in appreciation of CSUDH employees who
have served Cal State Dominguez Hills for at least five years.
Sandoval and Guillen both were honored for 10 years of service,
while McGuire was recognized for five years as a Toro.
Sandoval, currently the Associate Athletics
Director/Senior Woman Administrator, began her career on the
Carson campus as the womens volleyball head coach in 1995,
heading the squad for two seasons. Two years later, Sandoval
transitioned into the main athletics office in 1997, where she
became the SWA, adding the Associate Athletics Director title in
2003.
Guillen, currently the Assistant Athletics
Director/Media Relations, began his career at CSUDH as the Sports
Information Director in 1995. In 2003, Guillen was appointed the
title of Assistant Athletics Director, where he since has been
responsible for fundraising, contracts and sport supervision, all
while supervising the sports information department.
McGuire began his career as a Certified
Athletics Trainer for the Toros in 2000, after earning his degree
from CSUDH in Physical Education and Athletic Training in 1997.
The 2005-06 athletics competition schedule for
volleyball begins with the 2nd Annual Toro Classic on Thursday,
August 25, followed mens and womens soccer on Friday,
August 26, and cross country on Saturday, September 3. Complete
