No. 15 Toros Shutout Western Washington Men, 3-0
Francisco Corona tallies game winner early in win over Vikings

CARSON, Calif.--Senior forward Francisco Corona (Paramount/Compton HS) scored what would be the game-winning goal just five minutes into the game to give host Cal State Dominguez Hills a 3-0 victory over visiting Western Washington University.

Corona took the ball from Jason Koza (Whittier/La Serna HS) and blasted his shot from 30-yards away to put the Toros up 1-0 at 5:11. That was all the scoring the CSUDH defense would need as they held the Vikings to just eight shots on the day.

Sophomore forward Kei Kamara (Lawndale/Leuzinger HS) put the Toros up 2-0 at 23:15 taking a pass from Corona then proceeded to beat the goalkeeper to the far poCarmelo Terranova (Saugus/Saugus HS) completed the scoring with his first goal of the season midway through the second half. Terranova took a nifty crossing pass from Mike Jimenez (Norco/Norco HS) from the right flank and headed home his shot for the 3-0 final.st.

Toros goalie Kyle Polak (Huntington Beach/Fountain Valley HS) was not really tested today in between the posts. The junior netminder made four saves in the match.

WWU (0-2-0) goalie Ben Dragavon took the loss allowing all three goals while making six saves.

CSUDH (2-0-0), who is ranked No. 15 in the preseason NSCAA/adidas poll, will host Vanguard University in non-conference action on Thursday, September 8 at 2 PM.
