San Francisco, CA--- Jesse Graham connected on
a ball five minutes into the second overtime on a ball from Marco
Flores to score the golden goal to give the fourth ranked Cal
State Dominguez Hills Toros (12-1-2, 6-1-2 CCAA) the 3-2 victory
over the host, San Francisco State University Gators. With the
loss, SF State falls to 8-6-1 overall and 4-4-1 in the CCAA.
The Toros scored the first goal of the game
just five seconds on a shot by Kei Kamara off a pass from Carmelo
Terranova. Mark Cipolla tied the match for the Gators at 1-1 off a
cross from Paul Carter at the 27:25 mark for his fifth goal of the
season. The match remained tied at 1-1 for the next 39 minutes.
SF States George Nixon broke the tie at
the 66:51 mark off a free kick from Savvas Constantinou and header
from Scottie Hand. This was Nixons third goal of the season.
Sammy Rivas connected on a pass from Jason Koza
to tie the match for Cal State Dominguez Hills seven minutes
later. The match remained tied at 2-2 until five minutes of the
second overtime period.
Eric Shield recorded six saves in goal for the
Gators in just his second start of the season. Kyle Polak had two
saves in goal for Cal State Dominguez Hills, who out-shot the
Gators 14-8 including 4-0 in the overtime periods.
The Toros continue their northern California
swing with a match Sunday at Sonoma State.
