Carson, CA -- The NCAA announced today that Cal
State Dominguez Hills will host 2005 NCAA Division II Mens
Soccer Far West Regional Playoffs. Second-seeded Seattle Pacific
University will battle 3rd-seeded Sonoma State on Saturday,
November 12 at 1:00 p.m., with the winner taking on the top-seeded
Toros in the Far West Championship game on Monday, November 14,
also at 1:00 p.m. Both contests will be played at Toro Field on
the campus of CSUDH.
CSUDH, currently at 16-4-2 and ranked No. 10 in
the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)
poll, will be making its sixth-consecutive NCAA postseason
appearance. The Toros were upset by Sonoma State in the CCAA
Championship game yesterday afternoon, falling 1-0 in double
overtime. Kei Kamara (Lawndale, CA/Leuzinger HS) and Francisco
Corona (Paramount, CA/LA Harbor JC) lead the Toros offense
with 14 and nine goals, respectively, each earning a First-Team
All-CCAA honor last week. In between the posts, junior Kyle
Polak (Huntington Beach, CA/CS Fullerton) again has been
stellar, allowing just 0.83 goals per game while tallying 14 wins
and seven shutouts on the year.
Were excited to be able to
host, head coach Joe Flanagan begins. Its always
nice to play at home, and hopefully well be able to attract
a lot of people to the Stadium on Monday to support us.
Ticket prices for both days are as follows:
- Adults - $6.00
- Students w/ current ID - $3.00
- Seniors & Children (12 & Under) -
