Biola University Eagles (1-3, 1-1 GSAC)
Biola is coming off a 79-43 loss at the hands
of #1 ranked (NAIA) Vanguard University. The Eagles were held
scoreless until the clock showed 9:30 remaining, shooting
16.0% and only scoring eight points, also turning the ball
over frequently to give Vanguard 36 points off turnovers.
Biola would enter the locker room at halftime down 52-8.
The Eagles came out of the locker room
intent on showing that they were better than the eight points
they put up in the first half. Biola would indeed prove that
they were not the team of the first half, shooting 38.2% from
the field and putting up 35 points. With the offense found,
the defense also stepped up its game, bringing down Vanguards
first-half shooting percentage of 50% to 31.3%. With the
offense and defense now in the game the Eagles would actual
outscore the visiting Lions in the second half, 35-27.
On the season the Eagles are led
offensively by Linda Ogugua with 19.0 points and 11.5 rebounds
per game. Other top scores are Lindsey Richelli and Megann
Alberts with 9.8 and 8.0 points per game average,

respectively. Also contributing to the effort was Aasia Betts
with eight points and 17 rebounds.
In the first half the Javelinas would build
a 26-18 lead going into the locker room, due largely to sound
defense and poor shooting (8 of 32) by the visiting Tigers.
With a comfortable lead coming out of the locker room, TAMKU
watched the Tigers go on a 31-10 run over the first 13 minutes
of the half. After the run the Javelinas found themselves down
49-36, and would not be able to recover.
