Boston, MA Cal State Dominguez Hills
freshman hurdler Granada Meia Tezeno (Hercules,
CA/Hercules HS) finished fourth in the 60-meter hurdle finals this
afternoon as she garnered her first-career All-America honor at
the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, which was held at
the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center and hosted by Stonehill
College
Tezeno broke the tape in a time of 8.68
seconds, mirroring her qualifying time from the previous days
race and finishing just 0.03 seconds away from third position.
I thought the start couldve
been better, but I was pleased, said Tezeno on todays
stellar effort. I was shooting for the top 5, and it was
exciting.
St. Augustine junior Marquita Davis took the
national title and broke the meet record by one tenth of a second
in a time of 8.44 seconds, while Lincoln University freshman Carla
Thomas, who posted the fastest preliminary time in yesterdays
heats, finished second in a time of 8.55.

Warren Edmonson on his freshman All-American, I was very
impressed how well she performed as a freshman, and the fact that
shes an All-American representing Cal State Dominguez Hills
is outstanding.
This marks the second straight year the Toros
fielded an All-American in this event, with Lynnae Samuels earning
the honor last year.
The Toros continue their outdoor season on
Saturday, March 18, traveling to San Diego to compete in the Aztec
Invitational, hosted by San Diego State University.
