2006 Toros Scholarship Golf Classic

Carson, CA -- Cal State Dominguez Hills Athletics has confirmed its 2006 Toros Scholarship Golf Classic for Friday, June 9, at the regal Meadowlark Golf Club, located in Huntington Beach, California. This annual event, which serves as the major fundraiser for the Toros athletics program, features Jim Dear, Mayor, City of Carson, as its Honorary Chairman, with all proceeds from the Golf Classic going towards student-athlete scholarships.

The day begins with a 6:30 a.m. registration and continental breakfast, followed by a 7:30 a.m. shotgun start. The four-man best-ball scramble will include contests for closest to the pin and the longest drive, along with many other surprises for the day’s participants.

Lunch precedes a live auction and will be served immediately following the round of golf and ensuing silent auction, with both auctions consisting of many one-of-a-kind items. Additionally, an opportunity drawing will take place throughout the afternoon featuring CSUDH merchandise, apparel and other valuable prizes.

There are only a handful of foursomes left in the tournament, as of the date of this release, so be sure to reserve your spot today by downloading the information brochure/entry form and submitting it to the Athletics Department. Also, sponsorship packages are available to help fund student-athlete scholarships for the coming years.

The deadline for entry fees, participants and sponsorships for the 2006 Golf Classic is Monday, May 15, and should be sent to the Cal State Dominguez Hills Athletics Department.

For further information, contact either CSUDH Assistant Athletics Director Lamel Harris or CSUDH Special Events Coordinator Deann Schlobohm in the Athletics Department at 310.243.3893, or via email: Lamel or Deann.
