Carson, CA -- Cal State Dominguez Hills has
named Mel Miranda the Sports Information Director for the
Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, it was announced by CSUDH
Athletics Director Patrick Guillen. Miranda, who served as the
interim SID since November 1, will begin his new position on May
1.
I am extremely pleased to
announce the hiring of Mel Miranda as the permanent Sports
Information Director, says Guillen. Mel has worked
tirelessly and is a true professional with exceptional
interpersonal skills. He is an integral part of our family here
and a key component in our vision of what we are trying to
accomplish in CSUDH Athletics.
Miranda began his sports information career as
the Assistant Sports Information Director for CSUDH in 2003,
following a one-year sports information / marketing internship at
Cal State L.A. Prior to his career in athletics, Miranda worked at
Virgin Records America from 1996-2002, with the last four years as
a publicist. Before his stint at VRA, he began his public
relations career at Atlantic Records after graduating from UCLA
with a degree in English.
A southern California native, Mel, wife Malu,
daughter Medina and dog Mori reside in Long Beach, California.
