Schedules in PDF
Toro fans, the fall 2006 schedules are now
available. Be sure to follow the mens soccer team as they
look to defend their 2005 NCAA Far West Regional Title, the womens
soccer team as they look to capture the CCAA title after placing a
runner-up finish last season, the retooled volleyball team under
the leadership of new head coach Randy Cline and the cross country
team as it welcomes back six runners who enjoyed their first
season in Cardinal & Gold this past year.
The soccer teams, led by 2005 CCAA Mens
Soccer Coach of the Year Joe Flanagan, will kick off the season in
the great northwest, taking on perennial powers Western
Washington, Seattle Pacific and Seattle University over a five-day
span before their home opener against Grand Canyon on Tuesday,
September 5.
Following that non-conference match-up, CSUDH
begins its CCAA schedule against Cal Poly Pomona on Friday,
September 8, one of two home CCAA contests they enjoy before
taking to the road for five-consecutive matches. The Toros return
home to face new CCAA member Humboldt State on Friday, September
29 in the first of three home matches, before two road games at
Cal State San Bernardino and Cal Poly Pomona in early October.
CSUDH then hosts Cal State Bakersfield before Cal State L.A.
visits Carson on Sunday, October 15, the final home game for the
2006 seniors.
The Toros conclude their regular season with a
northern California road trip, before the conference tournament
begins October 27, one week before the NCAA Far West Regionals.
After two scrimmages, the Toros kick off their
2006 volleyball season at the UC San Diego Invitational,
where they will face five schools in a three-day stretch. CSUDH
begins its home schedule on Wednesday, August 30, in a match-up
with Armstrong Atlantic University, before taking to the road the
first weekend of September.
Chico State and Cal State Stanislaus visit
Carson on September 8-9, respectively, before the Toros again
travel for four-consecutive matches. CSUDH then hosts eight of its
next 10 matches over the next month, including Cal State Monterey
Bay on Friday, October 27 for Senior Day, before winding up the
regular season at Sonoma State and Humboldt State the weekend of
November 3-4.
The cross-country squad opens its
season at the Cal State Fullerton Titan Opener on September 2 and
at the UC Irvine Steve Scott Invitational on September 9, before
taking one week off to prepare for four-consecutive Saturdays of
competition, followed by the UC San Diego-hosted CCAA
Championships on Saturday, October 21. The NCAA Regionals follow
two weeks later in Chico, before the NCAA Championships conclude
the cross-country season on Saturday, November 18, in Pensacola,
Florida, as part of the NCAA Fall Sports Festival.
