Toros Lose CCAA Volleyball Match at Cal State Monterey Bay

Seaside, CA-CSUMB's Otters snapped a three-match losing streak with a four game victory over CSUDH (30-25, 30-20, 24-30, 30-21) Saturday night in Seaside.

The Otters were on fire, holding the Toros (4-10, 1-7 CCAA) to .000 in the first two games. In Game 1 the Toros were up 25-24 before the Otters scored the last 6 points.

Things were different in the last two games as Dominguez Hills had 3 blocks enroute to a 14-4 lead. The Otters came back to make it as close as 28-21 before sub Arreana Peoples scored the last 3 points for the Toros on 2 kills and a block.

Game four was a close one early. After the third tie at 10-10, the Otters scored eight consecutive points to take the lead for good at 18-10 and slow down the Toros comeback. Courtney Spainhour led the Toros with eight kills and three aces. Nicole Hoffman and Peoples had seven kills.

Brittany Etchings had 12 kills and 3 aces for the Otters (7-9, 2-6 CCAA)
