TURLOCK, Calif.—The Cal State Stanislaus volleyball squad won over vistiting Cal State Dominguez Hills, 3-0, in CCAA action at Warrior Arena on Friday night to complete the season sweep of the Toros.

The Warriors (10-10, 6-7 CCAA) won 30-26, 30-24 and 30-19 to even their record to .500. The Toros drop to 7-12 overall and 4-9 in conference play. The Warriors won the first meeting between the teams on Sept. 9, 3-1.

The teams were deadlocked 20-20 in game one and play continued back-and-forth with the Toros coming within a point, 25-24, on a service error by the Warriors. A kill by Stanislaus sophomore Megan Loghry ended the rally short and the Warriors were able to eventually close out the game on Loghry‘s service ace and a Toro attacking error.

In game two, the Warriors went out to a 17-14 lead but the Toros were able to stay with it, getting as close as 26-24 late in the game before the Warriors were able to clinch the win.

It was all Cal State Stanislaus in the final game, cruising to a 21-9 lead. The Toros managed to get chip away at the lead, but the Warriors closed out the game strong to pull out the game and match.

Senior middle blocker Kelli Costello led all players with 10 kills, recorded a pair of blocks and two block assists. Setter Kayla Van Duyn posted 28 set assists and Junior libero Ashley Hullen had 14 digs. Junior Liz Cameron had the most rounded game, finishing with five service aces to go with eight kills and eight digs.

For the Toros, it was Courtney Spainhour leading the team with seven kills. Kayleigh Spratt had 11 assists, Tiffany Bull had 10 and Maria Miranda had 12 digs.

CSUDH continues play on the road and will be at Chico State Saturday night in another CCAA match.
