Hearn's Bio
I have been at CSUDH for five years now and my
career here is coming to a close. At times I feel like Im
ready to be done with school and soccer, and other times I feel
like Im not ready to leave. It sometimes scares me to think
that my soccer career is over and that I am going to be out in the
real world. I believe the only reason this is scary to me is
because I have had a blast playing soccer at Dominguez and I am
not sure how I will cope without it.
I am very thankful that I had the chance to
play the game I love at such a competitive level, and at a school
that is a powerhouse for Division II soccer. There are numerous
people whom I would like to thank because without them I would not
have had this amazing opportunity.
First of all, I would like to thank my parents
Bruce and Karen for their years of support and encouragement,
especially my mom who has been to almost every Toro soccer game in
the last five years. My parents are the ones who would take me to
all of my games and practices. They were also involved in coaching
and managing most of the teams that my sister and I were on,
especially the club team that they helped start. Without my
parents, there is no way I would have made it to the level of
soccer that I have reached, and I am very grateful for that.
I would also like to thank my brother Matt for
introducing me to the sport. Matt took it upon himself to teach my
sister and me how to play soccer because we were too young to play
AYSO.
My twin sister Kim also deserves to be
recognized because she helped me get through all the hard times in
training when my body or my asthma told me to quit. I would also
like to thank her for sticking it out and playing for as long a
she did in a far from ideal situation. Having Kim on the team with
me for four years made my experience much more enjoyable.
A special thanks goes out to Matt Levoe for his
support and encouragement over the last couple of years. I would
also like to thank him for lending me his ear when I have needed
someone to talk to.
I would also like to thank the coaching staff,
even those who are not on the current staff. Joe, Tuttle, Sean,
Drew and Joyner, thank you for giving me a chance and for making
me a better player. I have learned so much from you guys and I
will take that knowledge and use it if I continue to coach.
Last, but not least, I want to thank my
teammates. We have been through good times and bad times, but they
have all brought us closer together and have made us stronger. I
will always remember you guys. Thank you for all the wonderful
memories!
I LOVE YOU GUYS!!
