Valley, CA/Fountain Valley HS) and senior Candace Hearn
(Whittier, CA/Whittier HS) were named to the ESPN The Magazine
Academic All-District womens soccer teams, it was announced
earlier by the CoSIDA. Lloyd, a three-time All-CCAA selection, was
voted to the 1st-team while Hearn, the only four-year
letter-winner on this years Toro squad, was named to the
2nd-team.
Lloyd, who has started in all 65 games played
in her Toro career, was named to the All-CCAA 2nd-team for the
second time in her career after being selected to the All-CCAA
3rd-team in 2005. A biology major, Lloyd holds a 3.92 GPA. Hearn,
a SAAC member and recipient of the Presidential Scholarship Award
for superior academic achievement, maintains a 3.8 GPA as a

Lloyd was the only womens soccer
student-athlete from the CCAA to be named to the 1st-team, while

In 2006, the Toros finished their season with
an 11-8-1, 10-5-1 mark, narrowly missing out on the CCAA
Tournament by virtue of a tiebreaker. Next season, CSUDH returns
18 letter-winners, eight starters as well as their starting
keeper, and look to send their 12 2007 seniors back to the CCAA
and NCAA postseason tournaments. |
