Carson, CA -- Cal State Dominguez Hills senior
and co-captain Jesse Graham (San Diego, CA/Pt. Loma HS)
was named to the 2006 National Soccer Coaches Association of
America/adidas Mens Soccer All-America 2nd-team, it was
announced by the NSCAA. This is the first All-America honor of
Graham's stellar four-year career in Cardinal and Gold.
Graham, the Toros only four-year
letter-winner, garnered the nod after earning a 1st-team
All-Region selection in both the NSCAA and NCAA Daktronics
all-region polls last month.
The San Diego native, who was selected to the
All-CCAAs 1st-team for his third-career conference honor at
the CCAA Championship tournament banquet last October, also
claimed his first CCAA Player of the Week award in the regular
seasons final weekend to help CSUDH secure the 4th and final
spot in the conference tournament. Graham also moved into 4th on
the CSUDH all-time assist list, 9th on the all-time points list,
and 10th on the all-time goals list as he led the Toros with 8
goals, 6 assists and 22 points.
Cal State Dominguez Hills, which claimed its
7th CCAA Championship on October 29 with a 2-1 win over cross-town
rival Cal State L.A., had one of two 2nd-team nods for the
conference, with Sonoma State defender Brett Cook garnering the
other. SSU's Andrew Bailey and CSULA's Morten Marthinsen both
claimed 3rd-team awards, giving the CCAA four players selected to
NSCAA All-America squads.
