TURLOCK, Calif.—It was Brigalye Inglehart and Jessica Liang leading the way for Cal State Dominguez Hills in the Toros’ 73-53 win over Minnesota, Crookston in the opening day of the Eva Schicke Memorial New Year’s Classic presented by Stanislaus Farm Supply at Warrior Arena Friday night. Both players scored 18 points to lead all scorers in the contest.

The Toros (5-2) built up as much as a 26-point lead midway through the second half to keep the winless Golden Eagles (0-11) at bay. CSUDH led by 33-24 at the intermission.

As a team, the Toros shot 43.1 percent from the field (25-for-58) compared to the 36.7 percent effort from the Golden Eagles (18-for-49). The Toros held a slight 36-to-32 advantage in rebounds.

Besides the performance by Inglehart and Liang, the Toros led a balanced offensive attack with all but four players notching a point in the victory.

Treasure Clemons led the Golden Eagles with 15 points and Doriane Davis posted nine.

Due to a snowstorm in Colorado, Colorado State-Pueblo was unable to make the trip shortening the event to just two games, including canceling the Cal State Stanislaus women’s basketball team’s contest tonight.

There will be just one game on Saturday, with the Warriors facing off against Minnesota, Crookston at the 7:30 p.m. scheduled time
