TURLOCK, Calif.It was Brigalye Inglehart
and Jessica Liang leading the way for Cal State Dominguez Hills in
the Toros 73-53 win over Minnesota, Crookston in the opening
day of the Eva Schicke Memorial New Years Classic presented
by Stanislaus Farm Supply at Warrior Arena Friday night. Both
players scored 18 points to lead all scorers in the contest.
The Toros (5-2) built up as much as a 26-point
lead midway through the second half to keep the winless Golden
Eagles (0-11) at bay. CSUDH led by 33-24 at the intermission.
As a team, the Toros shot 43.1 percent from the
field (25-for-58) compared to the 36.7 percent effort from the
Golden Eagles (18-for-49). The Toros held a slight 36-to-32
advantage in rebounds.
Besides the performance by Inglehart and Liang,
the Toros led a balanced offensive attack with all but four
players notching a point in the victory.
Treasure Clemons led the Golden Eagles with 15
points and Doriane Davis posted nine.
Due to a snowstorm in Colorado, Colorado
State-Pueblo was unable to make the trip shortening the event to
just two games, including canceling the Cal State Stanislaus womens
basketball teams contest tonight.
There will be just one game on Saturday, with
the Warriors facing off against Minnesota, Crookston at the 7:30
p.m. scheduled time
