Nampa, ID - Junior Grace Fitchett (Los
Angeles, CA/Paramount HS) led the charge with a third place
finish in the 60-meter hurdles as the Toros kicked off the 2007
Indoor Track & Field season Saturday afternoon at the Hampton
Inn & Suite Classic, hosted by Boise State.
Fitchett, the 2006 CCAA runner-up in the
outdoor 100-meter dash and 100-meter hurdles, blazed down her lane
in a time of 8.76, beating Division I runners from UC Berkeley,
BYU, and Stanford.
Fellow junior Deborah Bowser (Long Beach,
CA/Cerritos JC) would be the only other Toro to make an
appearance in the top-10, finishing 9th in the 200-meter dash in a
time of 26.19.

- 400-Meter Dash: Natasha Kenyon (1:09.62,
14th)
- 800-Meter Run: Kelly Corral (2:26.26, 11th)
- 200-Meter Dash: Shammeer Dawson (27.17,
15th), Stephanie Peoples (28.60, 20th), Dorthy Andrews (30.92,
23th), Anna Hernandez (38.19, 26th).
- Shot Put: Brittany Masai (5.21m, 19th)
The Toros will next be in action Saturday,
January 27, when they compete in the University of Washington
Invitational in Seattle, Washington.
