San Francisco, Calif.---Led by four player in
double figures, the Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros (10-5, 7-4
CCAA) upended the San Francisco State University Gators (4-12, 4-7
CCAA) 67-52 at the Main Gymnasium on the campus of SFSU.
The first half was a back and forth affair with
neither team able to take control of the game. The biggest lead of
the first half was SFSUs 6 points at 14-9 with just over 12
minutes left in the first half. CSU Dominguez Hills battled back
to take a 30-27 lead into the locker room.
The Toros began the second half with a 19-6
scoring run, led by Alana Baileys 12 points to take a 49-33
lead and cruised to a 15 point win. The Toros shot 54% from the
field in the second half, while the Gators struggled, shooting 14%
against a tough Toros defense.
Krystle Mays led the Gators with a
double-double - 12 points and 12 rebounds. Jessica Hout-Freeman
also added 12 points.
The Toros were led by Alana Bailey and her 19
points and 8 rebounds. Brittney Blankenship led the Toros with 9
rebounds and added 12 points. Brigayle Inglehart chipped in 11
points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals and Jessica Laing contributed 10
points.
Cal State Dominguez Hills continues its road
play next week with a Thursday-Saturday duo of games, starting
with Chico State, then finishing with Cal State Stanislaus.
