Carson, CA Grace Fitchett (Los
Angeles, CA/Paramount HS) did double duty for the Toros at the
Dempsey Invitational, hosted by the University of Washington,
posting a pair of provisional times in the 60-meter hurdles and
the 200-meter dash.
In the 60-meter hurdles Fitchett posted a time
of 8.74, placing her sixth, ahead of runners from Baylor, North
Dakota State, and conference rival Cal State L.A. Fitchett easily
blew by the provisional qualifying mark of 8.99 and closed in on
the automatic qualifying time of 8.65.
In the 200-meter dash Fitchett would set
another provisional mark, finishing 10th in a time of 25.27.
Fitchett would again run past runners from Division I schools such
as Oregon, Montana, Cal State Northridge, and UC Davis.
