Carson, CA -- Cal State Dominguez Hills
Office of Student Life (OSL) and the newly expanded Loker Student
Union will be sponsoring a $10,000 Shootout during
halftime of the February 9 mens basketball game. Five lucky
fans will have a chance to make four baskets in a period of 25
seconds and hopefully, one will win $10,000.00.
Random drawings will take place at the men and
womens basketball games on February 9 when the Toros take on
the Lumberjacks of Humboldt State. The entire event will be filmed
by the Athletics Department to ensure authenticity in the event
one lucky fan makes all four shots.
CSUDH students, faculty and staff can earn and
collect Shootout entry tickets from four different
locales on campus beginning Monday, February 5, 2007, with Student
Life, ASI, and athletic events providing the opportunity to
collect numerous entry tickets. Look for notices from these sites,
including the Office of Student Life, Associated Students
Incorporated, the Multi-Cultural Center and the Athletics Office,
for your chance at the $10,000 Shootout! Tickets will
be available at all CSUDH mens and womens home
basketball games, and during Toro Days from February 5-9, 2007.
Tickets will be drawn randomly once the womens
game begins, with the final of five selections to take place right
before halftime of the mens contest. Once all five
participants are selected, all of whom must be in attendance to
participate, each will get an opportunity to make a lay-up (one
dribble minimum), a free throw, an NCAA 3-pointer, and a half
court shot, all while collecting their own ball during the
25-second time frame. If successful, they will win the $10,000
prize.
The following participant limitations and
