season the Toros came away with a 66-50 win behind 21 points
from Jessica Liang and 10 points and eight rebounds from Alana

Bakersfield Roadrunners currently hold a 10-3 series lead
over the Toros. In their first meeting this season the Runners
came out on top 69-54. Ennisha Kyles and Brittney Blankenship
would be in double figures with 12 and 10 points,
respectively. |

Recapping Last Week
It was a rough three-game set for the Toros,
first just being edged by No. 18 UC San Diego 68-64, then beating
Humboldt State 68-59, currently ranked No. 5 in the West Region,
and then losing to Sonoma State 63-59.
Against the Tritons the Toros would have a
chance to tie the game with under 10 seconds left, but a baseline
jumper by Michelle Kribell rattled out.
The Toros would outshoot UCSD from the field,
43.1% to 33.3%, but the Toros could not overcome the 26-2 free
throw advantage held by UCSD.
The Toros would post four players in double
figures, led by Jessica Liangs 16 points and five rebounds.
Against the Jacks the Toros would
outshoot HSU 46.9% to 40.9% from the field and post three players
in double figures, led by Alana Baileys 19 points and eight
rebounds.
CSUDH would also win the free throw battle,
getting to the line 28 times to the Jacks 25.
After knocking off the No. 5 seed in the West
Region, the Toros would drop the following days contest to
Sonoma State, despite being up by one at intermission.
After shooting just 28.6% in the first half and
scoring 23 points, the Toros offense with heat up, shooting 56.0%
in the second half and scoring 36 points. However, the Toros
normally lock-down defense would falter and SSU would heat up,
shooting 70.6% from the field and scoring 41 points.
Brigayle Iglehart would garner team-high
scoring honors with 15 points to lead three Toros in double
figures.

Night In and Night Out: Juniors Brigayle Iglehart
and Alana Bailey are turning in consistent offensive performances
night in and night out, with both players having scored in double
figures in four-consecutive games.
Iglehart has scored 57 points over the past
four games while Bailey has chipped in 56 points. On the season
Iglehart has notched nine game where she has scored in double
figures, and three games of 20 or more points. Bailey has had 12
games of 10 or more points, with a high of 19 twice.
During this four-game stretch, the duo has
combined to score 47% of the Toros points, with the next closest
tandem being fellow juniors Jessica Liang and Brittney
Blankenship, who have scored 29% of the Toros total points.

Cal State L.A. Golden Eagles (3-18,
1-15 CCAA)The Golden Eagles visit Carson after being swept
last week, first dropping a 74-46 decision to Cal State
Stanislaus, and then falling to Chico State, 74-55.
CSULA is currently on an 11-game losing
streak, with its last win coming on November 20 against Hawaii
Pacific.
Against the Warriors the Golden Eagles
would have their wings clipped early, finding themselves down
nine (11-2) in the first four minutes and down 17 (20-3) in
the first 10 minutes of the first half.
CSULA would only shoot 26.9% from the field
while allowing CSUS to shoot 52.2%.
The Warriors lead would continue to
grow in the second half, eventually reaching 28 at 68-40 with
5:32 left in the game.
Amber Whittington would lead the CSULA
offense with 12 points, coming off four three-point shots.
Against the nationally-ranked Wildcats the
Golden Eagles would hang tough, outshooting CSUC from the
field in the first half 41.4% to 37.1%, and finding themselves
only down one at 33-32 at intermission.
However, in the second half CSULA would run
out of gas, seeing its shooting percentage drop to 32.0% while
CSUC increased to 51.7%, allowing the Wildcats to break the
game open with 41 second-half points to the Golden Eagles

CS Bakersfield Roadrunners (17-6, 14-2
CCAA)
The Runners are currently on a
nine-game winning streak after dominating their opponents last
week.
CSUB first took on the nationally-ranked
Wildcats and handed them their worst loss of the season with
an 83-50 drumming.
In the game CSUB would hold CSUC to a 29.2%
field goal percentage and win the battle on the boards, 53 to
30.
CSUB would have four players in double
figures, led by Kelley Tarvers 21 points.
The Runners would turn in an even
more dominant performance two days later against Cal State
Stanislaus in a 103-60 romp.
CSUB again would put four players in double
figures, led by Florida Siaosi and Tarver, who chipped in 26
and 23 points, respectively.
As a team CSUB would shoot 51.2% from the
field and outrebound CSUS, 50-40.
On the season the Roadrunners hold a +16.0
scoring margin and a +3.5 rebounding margin over their
opponents.
CSUB has also launched 67 more three-point
shot attempts and hit 32 more.
The Runners also hold a +4.7 turnover
margin, committing over 100 fewer turnovers than their
