first baseman Scott Moore (Upland, CA/Cal State L.A.) has
been named Wilson California Collegiate Athletic Association
Baseball Player of the Week for the week of Feb 12-18.
Moore, a senior from Upland, batted .529 in
four games against Division I Southern Utah to help the Toros win
the series 3-1. Moore was 9-for-17 with two doubles, scored twice
and drove in eight runs. He had at least one hit and one RBI in
each of the four games. The first baseman would also be flawless
in the field without committing an error in 39 chances.
In the series opening 14-1 rout of the
Thunderbirds on Thursday, Moore went 3-for-5 and drove in a run
with a double while striking out once. Moore went 3-for-5 with
four RBIs on Friday. Each of his four runs batted in either tied
the game or gave the Toros the lead in a closely contested 10-7
CSUDH loss.
Moore would go 3-for-7 in Saturdays
doubleheader with CSUDH sweeping the twinbill, 7-5 and 10-1. He
drove in three runs and score twice on the day.
