Bakersfield, CA Day two of the Cal State
Bakersfield Poor Boy Invitational proved a bit more challenging to
the field as Cal State Dominguez Hills junior Zach Jones (Los
Alamitos, CA/University of Hawai'i Hilo) shot a 5-over 77 over
the final 18 holes to finish tied for 32nd at the invitational's
end, posting a respectable 6-over 222 for the three rounds. The
Toros as a team, meanwhile, held on to edge Montana
State-Billings, finishing in 15th place overall.
Individually, UCLA sophomore Lucas Lee ended
today's round where he began, atop the leaderboard en route to
posting a 14-under 202 for the tournament. The Bruin held off CCAA
linksters Brady Baguio of Bakersfield and Kyle Hopkins of Sonoma
State, leading UCLA to the team title over runner-up Cal State
Bakersfield by 28 total strokes. Sonoma State finished behind the
'Runners, while Grand Canyon and Sacramento State tied for fourth.
