Presented in part by CSUDH Athletics corporate
partner The Trusperity Realty Services, the Toros Monte Carlo
Night featured dinner, dancing, a silent auction, opportunity
drawings and an array of standard gaming options including
blackjack, craps and roulette.
As guests entered the Loker lobby, they were
greeted by student-athletes introducing them to 20 silent auction
items ranging from tickets to this years NCAA Division I Mens
Basketball Final Four and rooftop tickets to a Chicago Cubs game
to a weekend getaway to the Holiday Inn Santa Monica Beach and a
round of golf at the PGAs Southern California Golf Club,
where all the pros play.
Once dinner began, members of the mens
and womens soccer teams served dinner to all attendees while
KDHR, CSUDHs on-campus radio station, provided the music.
The gaming then commenced, highlighted by a lively craps table
headed by CSUDH baseball head coach Murphy Sua and a very
lucky blackjack table, benefiting CSUDH track and field head coach
Warren Edmonson and CSUDH soccer assistant coach Jeff Tuttle,
whose card-counting acumen proved rather advantageous.
Monte Carlo night was a huge success
for not only CSUDH Athletics and our student-athletes, but also
for the campus as a whole and everyone who enjoyed themselves,
said Deann Schlobohm, CSUDH Athletics Special Events
Coordinator.
We were thrilled by the turnout, and by
the festive atmosphere our Toro friends and family brought to
the event, including all the people who helped make this night
one to remember. We couldnt have been more pleased, and were
already looking forward to making the 2nd Annual Monte Carlo
night bigger and better.
