Iglehart (San Diego, CA/Grossmont College) to blow out Cal
State Monterey Bay, 83-56, and give had coach Van Girard his 250th
career win in the process. With the win, the Toros improve to
16-10, 13-9 CCAA and the Otters fall to 7-20, 6-16 CCAA.

The Toros came out firing in their last home
game of the 2006-07 season, grabbing a 10-point lead at 19-9 with
13:54 on the clock on a jumper by Aujanee Baldwin (Fontana,
CA/Etiwanda HS).
Jessica Liang (Alhambra, CA/Mark Keppel HS)
would hit a pair of treys over the next four minutes followed by
another long range bomb by Unique Bennett (San Bernardino,
CA/Chaffey College) to extend the Toro lead to 19 at 33-14
with 8:55 remaining in the half.
Ashley Johnson (Los Angeles, CA/Lynwood HS)
then subbed in off the bench and nailed a jump shot to push
the Toro lead to over 20 at 35-14.
The Toros lead would reach as much as 29 with
less than five minutes remaining before settling at 26 at 51-25 to
end the half.
After the break the Otters used a pair of
threes by Megan Okui to cut the lead to 20 at 53-33 in the first
two minutes, but that would be as close as they would get in the
second half.
The Otters placed three players in double
figures led by Dana Andres with 15 points, while Okui and Denisha
Profit chipped in 13 and 10 points, respectively.
Iglehart garnered game high scoring and
rebounding honors with a double-double of 24 points and 10
rebounds. Liang would hit four treys on the day en route to 16
points while Baldwin chipped in 10 points in the win. Senior Ree
Browne (Torrance, CA/South Torrance HS) would play the final
home game of her career, finishing with nine points and three
rebounds in 14 minutes on the floor.
The Toros, currently the No. 5 seed in their
region, will be in action at the NCAA D-II Far West Region
tournament next Friday, March 9, 2007, with their opponent and
final seeding to be announced live tomorrow, after the mens
bracket is revealed at 7:30 p.m. PST.
