Carson, CA – With the ink still wet on the Toros making the NCAA D-II Regional tournament as well as head coach Van Girard’s 250th career win, CSUDH’s dynamic guard duo of Brigayle Iglehart (San Diego, CA/Grossmont College) and Jessica Liang (Alhambra, CA/Mark Keppel HS) have been named to the respective 1st-Team and 2nd-Team All-CCAA squads, with Iglehart also garnering the first-ever CCAA Newcomer of the Year award, it was announced this afternoon by the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA).

The guards have been lethal this season, combining for 22.9 points per game and 36% of the Toros’ points on the year, including seven 20-point performances.

Iglehart burst onto the scene in the Toros 2006-07 season opener against Cal State Stanislaus, scorching the Warriors with 27 points, six assists, and five rebounds in her Cardinal and Gold debut. The San Diego native then capped the regular season as she began, pouring in 22 first-half points against Cal State Monterey Bay and finishing with 24 points, five rebounds, and five assists, helping solidify the Toros invitation to the 2006-07 playoffs, the first postseason appeaerance since 2004-05.

Liang has been the “ying” to Iglehart’s “yang” this season, with Liang torching opponents with her long range attack. The Alhambra native finished the regular season leading the conference in three-point field goal percentage (.405) and three-point shots made per game (2.62), and has had 14 games in which she has hit at least three three-point shots, including a high of seven against Cal State L.A.
