Boston, MA - After running a personal best 8.57 in blowing by the automatic qualifying time in the 60-meter hurdles over a month ago , hurdles specialist Grace Fitchett (Los Angeles, CA/Paramount) ran a subpar 8.89 in the 2nd heat of the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships, failing to qualify for tomorrow's final race.

Entering today's prelims with the 3rd fastest time in the nation, Fitchett finished 5th in her own heat and 13th overall, nine-hundreths of a second off the qualifying time of 8.80 to earn a spot in Saturday's final.

St. Augustine senior Marquita Davis blazed by the competition in a time of 8.47, while Cal State L.A.'s Jamilah St. Cyr, the only other CCAA competitor in the race, qualified in a time of 8.73.

CSUDH continues its outdoor track and field season next weekend as it competes in the UNLV Dual Meet in Las Vegas, Nevada.
