Las Vegas, NV The Toros continued their
2007 outdoor track and field season with a strong showing at the
UNLV Duel Meet, held at Myron Partridge Stadium with provisional
times by Grace Fitchett (Los Angeles, CA/Paramount HS) and
Deborah Bowser (Long Beach, CA/Cerritos JC), along with
the 4 x 100 relay team.
In the 100-Meter Hurdles, Fitchett would
transfer her indoor hurdling success to the outdoors, blazing down
the track in a time of 13.88. The Los Angeles native would breeze
past the provision time of 14.65 and finish just eight hundredths
of a second behind the automatic mark of 13.80.
Bowser would leave her mark in the 200-Meter
Dash with a provisional time of 24.76, finishing ahead of runners
from Division I schools such as Texas, UNLV, and USC.
The Toros 4 x 100 Relay team would also set a
provisional mark with a time of 46.57, finishing right between the
provisional time of 47.50 and the automatic time of 45.50.

- 100-Meter Dash: Grace Fitchett (12.27, 7th),
Danielle Lewis (12.51, 9th), Shammeer Dawson (12.77, 10th).
- 200-Meter Dash: April Panteau (25.62, 13th).
- 400-Meter Dash: Brittany Masai (1:12.31,
9th).
- 800-Meter Run: Kelly Corral (2:22.82, 7th),
April Panteau (2:41.46, 11th), Pamela Gonzalez (2:57.40).
- 1500-Meter Run: Anna Hernandez (6:52.82,
11th), Leslie Gonzalez (7:00.06, 12th).
- 400-Meter Hurdles: Natasha Kenion (1:09.68,
5th).
- 4 x 400 Relay: (4:07.35, 2nd)
The Toros will next be in action at the
Cal-Nevada Championships, hosted by Fresno State, on Saturday,
March 31.
