With Tommy Horning and Darrick Hale on base, Gallo doubled to score the pair. Next, Adam Klein walked to extend his record to 49 walks in a season. With Horning on second and ninth inning defensive replacement Henry Contreras on first, Gallo came to the plate for the second time in as many innings. He singled home Horning to tie the contest at 13-13.

Leading off the tenth, Roche singled. He was advanced to second as Carroll grounded out to first. After Kurt Crowell was intentionally walked, Brian Hernandez singled home Roche to give the Golden Eagles the 14-13 extra innings.
