Paso Robles, CA -- Senior Zach Jones (Los
Alamitos, CA/University of Hawai'i-Hilo) posted a team-low 77
over the third and final round of the 2007 CCAA Golf
Championships, finishing with a total score of 224 and in 25th
place to lead the CSUDH quintet on the second and final day of the
CCAA Championships. As a team, CSUDH finished in 8th place of 8
teams competing.
Junior Raphael Malabanan (Stanton,
CA/Cypress College) was the only other Toro to fire in the 70s
in the final round, ending the day with a 79 and overall score of
230, good for 34th place. For the tournament, Jones was the lone
Toro to shoot below par in any round, hitting a 2-under 70 in
round two.
Individually, Cal State Stanislaus' Eric
Justesen increased the lead he had after day one to take the
individual crown by five strokes over Cal State San Bernardinos
Gene Webster. The Warriors, who also were bolstered by a 4th-place
finish by Matt Hollinsead, bested the Coyotes by four strokes, 860
to 864, to claim the team title as well.

The Toros will return nearly their entire
roster next year in hopes of cracking the upper half of the highly
competitive CCAA Conference.
