Los Angeles, CA - The Toros Track & Field
team took advantage of their last meet before the NCAA Outdoor
Championships by recording six provisional marks, led by Grace
Fitchett's (Los Angeles, CA/Paramount HS) provisional and
season best times in the 100-meter hurdles and 200-meter dash at
the Oxy Invite, hosted by Occidental College.
In the 100-meter hurdles Fitchett eclipsed her
previous best time of 13.88 set two months ago at UNLV by breaking
the tape in a time of 13.86, placing her second.
Teammate Alexandria Anderson (Moreno
Valley, CA/Cal State L.A.) turned in her sixth provisional
mark and her fastest time this season finishing the sprint in a
time of 14.21.
In the 200-meter dash Fitchett turned in
another season best, finishing the race in 24.23 seconds, just
ahead of Deborah Bowser (Long Beach, CA/Cerritos JC) who
finished in a time of 24.78, with both times being provisional
marks.
April Panteau (Long Beach, CA/Long Beach
CC) recorded her first provisional time of the season in the
400-meter dash with a time of 55.53.
Other CSUDH Results:
- 4 x 100-meter relay: (47.16, 1st).
- 400-meter dash: Danielle Lewis (57.13 10th).
- 100-meter dash: Shammeer Dawson (13.06,
14th).
CSUDH will next compete and conclude its 2007
season at the NCAA DII Outdoor Championships May 24-26 in
Charlotte, NC hosted by Smith University.
