Another Baseball 2nd-Team All-Region Honor |

Carson, CA - Senior outfielder Mateo Marquez (Biggs, CA/Cal State L.A.) garnered his second 2nd-Team All-Region honor this week, it was announced by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers’ Association (NCBWA). The Biggs native finished atop the CCAA with nine triples on the year, while finishing fifth in stolen bases with 19 and seventh in total bases with 119. After batting .308 with four homeruns and 33 RBIs last season, Marquez had a breakout season in his senior campaign, hitting .357 with nine bombs and driving in 43 runs while splitting time between the four hole and the leadoff spot. The CCAA swept Player, Pitcher, and Coach of the Year honors, while placing eight players on the 1st-Team and eight players on the 2nd-Team. |
