Mr. DeLuca
has directed THE ART OF DINING, THE BOURGEOIS GENTLEMAN, and ROYAL HUNT
OF
THE SUN at Cal State Long Beach. He has directed
BRIGHTON BEACH MEMOIRS, EDUCATING RITA, BILOXI BLUES, and FENCES at
professional theatres in Los Angeles. At
Dominguez Hills, Mr. DeLuca has directed LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, MAN OF
THE FLESH, FENCES, ON THE VERGE, FOR COLORED GIRLS, HARVEST MOON,
MISANTHROPE, BOY, ANTIGONE, TWELFTH NIGHT, TALES OF THE LOST FORMICANS,
A HOUSE NAMED EDEN (The Carson Bridge Project), THE LITTLE COLLEGE ON
THE HILL (The Dominguez Bridge Project), and INTIMATE APPAREL.
At Cal State Dominguez Hills, Mr. DeLuca has taught Theatre
History,
Drama Literature, Acting, Directing, Creative Dramatics, Public
Speaking, Playwriting, Multicultural Diversity in American Theatre, The
Power of Masks, and Intro to Film, TV, and Theatre.
He is the project director of Teatro Dominguez, a
multicultural theatre company of students, faculty, and staff devoted
to cross cultural enhancement at CSU
Dominguez Hills. For the Teatro
he has directed THE RABBIT FOOT by Leslie Lee, LATINA by Milcha
Sanchez-Scott, PAUL ROBESON by Philip Hayes Dean, LA NAVIDAD DE MARISOL
by Jose Cruz-Gonzalez, F.O.B. by David Henry Hwang, and BEFORE IT HITS
HOME by Cheryl West, His
folktale adaptations, MAGIC WATERS, PEREZ AND MARTINA, THE LITTLE
COYOTE,
RANCHO DOMINGUEZ, LOCAL HEROES, and THE MAGIC FOREST have toured the
local elementary schools in Carson for
the last twelve years. Currently,
Teatro is forming The Dominguez Bridge Theatre Company, dedicated to
doing community-based theatre. Mr. DeLuca
has also written "The Power of Masks," an online book for students in
his upper division Humanities course.
