language courses
in French, Japanese and Spanish (see separate sections of this catalog), the
Department of Foreign Languages provides the opportunity for students to
undertake individual study and/or credit by examination in a foreign language
not regularly offered on campus. For

Course Offerings
The credit value for each course in semester units is
indicated for each term by a number in parentheses following the title. For course availability, please see the list
of tentative course offerings in the current Class Schedule.
FLG 294 Independent Study in Foreign Languages I (3).
Prerequisites: Consent of instructor and chair of Foreign Languages.
Beginning/intermediate
individual study and or credit by examination in a foreign language not
regularly offered on campus.
Arrangements must be made in advance of registration. Repeatable course.
FLG 494 Independent Study in a Foreign Language II (3).
