In addition to its regularly scheduled foreign
language courses
in French, Japanese and Spanish (see separate sections of this catalog), the
Department of Foreign Languages provides the opportunity for students to
undertake individual study and/or credit by examination in a foreign language
not regularly offered on campus. For further information, please contact the

Course Offerings
The credit value for each course in semester units
is indicated for each term by a number in parentheses following the title. For
course availability, please see the list of tentative course offerings in the
current Class Schedule.
FLG 294 Independent Study in Foreign Languages I (1-3).
Prerequisites: Consent of instructor and chair of Foreign Languages.
Beginning/intermediate individual study and or credit by examination in a foreign language not regularly offered on campus. Arrangements must be made in advance of registration. Repeatable course.
FLG 494 Independent Study in a Foreign Language II (1-3).
Prerequisites: Consent of instructor and chair of Foreign Languages.
Intermediate or advanced individual study or credit by examination in a foreign language not regularly offered on campus. Arrangements must be made in advance of registration. Repeatable course.
