CSU, DOMINGUEZ HILLS
Founded in 1960,
California State University, Dominguez Hills is a
contemporary, public university, offering bachelor’s
and master’s degrees as well as certificate and
credential programs. It is one of the 23 California
State University campuses.
California State
University, Dominguez Hills is among the most
ethnically diverse universities in the United States
with a student population that is 22.7 percent white,
30.9 percent African American, 35.5 percent Hispanic,
10.3 percent Asian, and 0.6 American Indian. In 2002
over 13,500 students were enrolled, of whom 5,700 were
in the College of Education.
COLLEGE OF EDUCATION
The College of Education offers
credential programs as well as Masters’ degrees
through its three departments - Teacher Education,
Graduate Education and Physical Education, Recreation
& Leisure Studies. Its Liberal Studies Program offers
subject matter preparation for prospective teachers.
