Overall
Goal
To improve the quality of mathematics and science education in
the Los Angeles Unified School
District by preparing teachers with strong subject matter and
pedagogical knowledge.
Goal 1
Lower structural barriers/provide social support for pre-service
teachers who enroll at CSUDH.
Goal 2
Enhance undergraduate and graduate teaching to reflect "teaching
for understanding" in order to
ensure that future math and science teacher candidates
understand necessary content to be high
quality teachers in LAUSD.
Goal 3
Enhance pre-certification and induction teaching to provide
candidates with coherent, adequate
apprenticeship to ensure strong pedagogical content knowledge.
Goal 4
Strengthen and Expand the Partnership for Scale-up and
Sustainability:
- Develop a Partnership
- Use Research and Evaluation
- Disseminate research findings
