Intern Program!
The faculty and staff
welcomes you to the Special
Education Intern Program (SEIP);
a program in the School of
Education (SOE), College of
Professional Studies (CPS).
The information within this
website will assist you to
become a highly qualified
credentialed Special
Education teacher in one of
the following programs:
Mild/Moderate,
Moderate/Severe, and Early
Childhood Special Education.
Standards for the Education
Specialists credentials are
specified by the
California
Commission on Teacher
Credentialing (CCTC). SEIP
programs are accredited by
the
California Commission on
Teacher Credentialing (CCTC)
and the
National Council on
Accreditation of Teacher
Education (NCATE). The
requirements of the
Individuals with
Disabilities Education Act
(IDEA), No Child Left Behind
(NCLB) Act of 2001,
California Curriculum
Framework and Standards, and
California Reading
Initiative also serve as
underpinnings for
instruction, field
supervision, and evaluation.
Federal and state agencies
have recognized the program
through grant awards. Please
